2012 Christmas Parade
Our 2013 Spring season started on March 20th. We play every Wednesday night at 6:30 pm at Tuttle field in Rockwall. See you there!
The Angel League is a baseball program for special needs boys and girls ages 4 to 15. The rules have been adapted so that we have no strikes, no outs and every child scores with every hit, even if the ball goes 10 or 100 feet. We do not keep score, so our teams are undefeated!!! Any child with disabilities may play, even if siblings or youth from our local high schools need to assist them in hitting and getting around the field. Walkers, wheel chairs, and mobility problems are not an issue. We have T-ball for the small fry and coach pitch for the more advanced players.
The Kiwanis Club of Rockwall County owns this team and provides free of charge uniforms and gloves. Parents coach the teams. The City of Rockwall Parks Department provides the baseball fields and all equipment. Local businesses provide us with free season end trophies and professional photography (team and individual pictures). Any additional needs are provided by the Kiwanis Club. .
We play a 9 week season each spring and fall with an awards ceremony at the conclusion of the last game. The entire program is provided at no-cost to the parents.
A team can be started for very little cost and it is up to each community to determine the additional features they would include in this program. We have found that community support for many of our needs was easily acquired once the story of the Angels was broadcasted, reducing our club’s cost.
For additional information on how your community can benefit from starting an Angel League Team, please email us at email@example.com or call 972 722 6001 and leave your name and number.
A complete “startup” power point presentation and brochure are in production for fall release.
“The Angel League Baseball Program celebrates who my child is, not what he isn’t.” — Mother of Angel League Player.
We meet every Tuesday at noon at The Rockwall Wedding Chapel for an atmosphere of fun, learning and fellowship. Weekly we host guest speakers to educate us on events, activities and needs in our community.
If you have a heart for service and a love for children, we have a place for you. Join us any Tuesday. Our members are your neighbors, colleagues, friends and business associates, so you will be sure to fit right in. You may contact us at 972 722-6001 for more information.
We are looking for individuals with hearts and hands. A heart to care and hands to do something positive in our community. Don’t hesitate because of time. Remember, “The greatest mistake was by he who did nothing because he could only do a little”. Join us today!!
